Did you know that there are currently over 200 different types cancer?
Or that 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime? That’s half the UK’s population pals!
I’ve long said that I am not the poster girl for cancer. Not by any sodding means. My experience of one type of cancer will vary massively from others.
I have absolutely no idea what it’s like to lose my knockers. How I’d tell my kids that I’m poorly sick. What it must be like to style up a stoma bag. Or how to handle the news that the bastard disease is back with a vengeance.
GIRLvsCANCER began as a place to talk about the cancer experience in a way that was accessible, authentic and honest AF. I wanted to provide a safe place for women like me to go to should the cancer hit the fan to feel supported and spoken to in their language. No stuffy clinical convos here gang.
I believe it’s crucial to give a fully rounded view of all cancers. And who better to give it than females who have been affected by it first hand.
Examine it from all angles. All bases covered.
Below you’ll find a bevvy of bad-ass babes discussing various aspects of the cancer experience in a way you can get on board with and available to answer any questions you may have.
Whether you’re about to embark on this crazy ride yourself, have a loved one who is or simply want to suss this whole cancer thing out a bit more…
