Dunno about you lot but when I think of female cancer fundraisers pretty much all that springs to mind is knitting and cake baking. But you know what not every woman is into fashioning a full on poncho in an ‘uplifting’ floral print. So for those women, like me, I’ve collaborated with the crew at Love Knitting and independent designer Two Of Wands to create this super chic, tongue-in-cheek piece of knitwear to raise much needed funds for the incredible Breast Cancer Haven.

My initial visit to the Breast Cancer Haven came during my first chemo cycle and the best way to describe it is as if you’re walking into a big warm hug. Offering free emotional, physical and practical support to anyone affected by breast cancer their centres across the country are lifeline for so many of my breast cancer sisters. From acupuncture to aromatherapy massage which help to alleviate the gnarly side-effects of treatment and counselling to life-coaching for whatever your cancer journey throws at you. The Breast Cancer Haven has our back during cancer, and beyond.

In a bid to generate some sizeable dollar to fund such sessions Breast Cancer Haven have created a campaign called The Big Tea Cosy which invites you to get your cake and crochet on to raise wonga and awareness for this incredible charity. Personally I’ll be ditching the tradish English Breakfast in favour of a Long Island Iced at my tea party but if you’re bang into your butterscotch accompanied by Earl Grey you go right ahead.

I’m also not the kinda gal to go knitting up a storm let alone a tea cosy however I’m head over heels for this mega minimal and cosy AF boxy knit designed by Two Of Wands. You can purchase the pattern (and tools) to make this trendy piece over at Love Knitting with 100% of the proceeds going to Breast Cancer Haven PLUS you can customise it how you wish and even donate the finished product to the Haven where it will be gifted to their deserving visitors.

So what are you waiting for? Go and Shake Ya Knits!

Breast Cancer Haven’s Big Tea Cosy kicks off from the 1st until the 31st March.

The charity is aiming to raise £1000 for each person they support so don’t be shy – put the kettle on and get crocheting!
